OEM motor sourcing guide
A vacuum-cleaner motor must be assessed with the complete fan system, airflow restriction, filtration state and enclosure. Catalog motor data alone cannot predict suction, temperature rise or product noise.
Application fit
Where this motor sourcing approach applies
A useful recommendation starts with the finished product, not a model number. Share the load, target operating point, available space and expected use pattern.
- Upright and canister vacuum cleaners
- Wet and dry cleaning appliances
- Compact suction and airflow products
- Application-specific blower assemblies
Recommended starting series
Compare relevant Zhanye motor platforms
Compare ZU8843 and ZU9535-C72 for 120V high-speed projects, ZU9535 for 220V high-speed applications and ZB8550 where a lower-speed high-output reference is useful.
| Model | Catalog supply | Measured no-load speed | Maximum tested output |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZU8843 | 120V / 60Hz | 26,670 RPM | 985.92 W |
| ZU9535-C72 | 120V / 60Hz | 26,270 RPM | 967.44 W |
| ZU9535 | 220V / 50Hz | 24,448 RPM | 1,195.40 W |
| ZB8550 | 220V / 50Hz | 13,639 RPM | 1,023.30 W |
OEM customization
Parameters that can be reviewed
Customization scope depends on the selected platform, technical feasibility, validation plan and production demand.
- Voltage, frequency and winding configuration
- Loaded speed, torque and operating point
- Shaft length, diameter, flats, thread or coupling
- Mounting points, brackets and available envelope
- CW or CCW rotation, viewed from an agreed side
- Lead wires, terminals, connector and thermal protection
- Fan geometry, airflow path and product-level suction target
Sample development
Move from requirement to a controlled sample
Testing and validation
Confirm the operating point in the complete product
Electrical and performance
Measure voltage, current, input power, loaded speed, torque or application output, start-up behavior and control interaction.
Thermal and duty cycle
Check temperature rise at the worst expected load, run time, start-stop pattern, ambient condition and cooling restriction.
Mechanical and NVH
Verify shaft fit, mounting, runout, rotation, noise and vibration in the final enclosure and driven system.
Life and compliance
Define endurance cycles, inspection points and finished-product safety or conformity requirements before design freeze.
MOQ principle
Separate sample quantity from production MOQ
Engineering samples are planned around what the OEM needs to validate. Production MOQ is reviewed after the starting platform and customization scope are known, because winding changes, dedicated tooling, material procurement, inspection and forecast demand affect the practical quantity. Send the expected annual volume and ramp timing for a useful quotation.
